This is a coast located in Futaba Town, Futaba District, Fukushima Prefecture. It was once known as Futaba Beach and was popular for its shallow waters and calm waves. It suffered catastrophic damage from the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and restoration and reconstruction work is still ongoing. The reopening of the beach for swimming is undecided, but it has become a symbolic place of the recovery efforts.
